Too true. And don't forget the cities that god himself destroyed like Sodom. Not to mention those where he ordered the Israelites to kill all the men, women, and male children. Then, of course, there's the flood where he killed everybody except Noah and his family.
That's just the active killing. Outside of free will, if god is the creator of all he's the creator of the Black Death and other pandemics. And don't get me started on acts of god - earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, tornadoes, etc.

so...i'm going to assume that you agree with me that God created us. you already gave credit to Him "being in charge/responisble". so allow me to hopefully enlighten you a bit. God created us with a free will. that's why adam and eve sinned. if God wanted to He could have stopped them and the world would still be perfect. but He didn't. He gave them a choice and they chose to sin. now, let me ask you a question. would you rather God control our every move? He has given each of us free choice and a free will to do whatever we want. yes millions have died in wars, but that doesn't mean God didn't care. He cares so much that He allows us to choose and mess up. so, would you rather have God grab a beer from your hands everytime you drink and drive (example i'm not saying you do) or take control of the steering wheel while you drive so you have no choice. would you rather be a puppet on a string? or would you rather allow God to give you His suggestions to problems, consider them and then make your own choice? because believe it or not that's what God is always doing, it's just whether or not you hear Him.

And your question is...?
God does care about us. But it's not like he got us into those wars...we got ourselves into the mess. God is kind and loving, but just like your parents, he forgives, but there is usually some kind of punishment. It may have been punishment, or, when Adam and Eve sinned, they put sin in the world. I don't know about you, but I would classify wars as a sin. The Bible says we will face persecution for believing in Jesus Christ...maybe that's why some people die for him--to make a statement in their belief? I don't have all the answers...go see a pastor from a nearby church.

The problem is that you expect god to be kind and loving. I'm sure he is, but if he made Man in his image, he is also vengenful and spiteful, and kinda ignorant at times. Plus, what if He was a She? Then the world starts to make more sense....every few millenia or so a total cultural upheaval, random spates of violence, kinda matches with a chick's mood swings :)

You assign blame for peoples' choices that result in pain and suffering to God. Do you also assign blame for peoples' choices that result in joy and beauty to God? Just wondering how even-handed you are...

Read the Old Testament. Yahweh doesn't just sit back and watch, he actively encourages it!

God didn't corrupt people and put evil in our hearts, we did it to ourselves. so if we're going to kill eachother that's our problem, not His.
