Ok, so since I woke up this morning (about 6 am), Ihave had pain in my back when i breathe. it's not just if i take a small little breath, it's when i do a lightly deeper inhale. it's bothering me. it's like when my right lung expands i feel pain. (i feel it right in my right lung). i don't know what it is or what to do. does anyone know what this could be?

I once slept funny and pulled some of the very tender muscles in between my ribs... every time I inhaled the muscle expanded and felt a sharpt pain. It was EXTREMELY painful and annoying since we always breathe.

I had a similar shooting pain after a week and a half of a cold. I went to the hospital and they told me I must have overworked those same muscles from coughing too much.

Unfortunately, for both of these cases there is not much you can do except perhaps some kind of pain killer.

It's unlikely that a massage therapist is going to help here! The pain you've described is pleuritic in nature it could be a chest infection...pleurisy....pneumothorax....PE......But without seeing a medic you're not going to know they need more history to make a diagnosis.

Sounds like pleurisy. It needs to be treated with antibiotics. Its an easy to treat infection. Go see a doc...

pleuritis. Take motrin. If it doesn't get better in a day see a doc.
