If you will post your computer's system data (Processor, Hard Drive, and Memory) then most peopleo on here can help.

Any newer Athlon or Intel processor will be fine, but I would recommend at least 1 Gig of RAM (512 at MINIMUM) and at least a 30 GB hard drive. From there, make sure you have plenty of space for the installation, or (better yet) back up all your important files and just format your computer for a clean installation.

On a personal preference note, I would wait a few months for Vista to get the bugs out before I would upgrade. The first bit after the release is when they really find and fix the problems that arise. If you do choose to upgrade make sure to check the windows update site as often as possible to make sure your system stays secure

You can test your PC by going to this website under microsoft.com.

Click or select and drag this link:

download the upgradeadvisor and then follow the instructions. The upgradeadvisor will let you know what needs to be upgraded on your PC. It will categorize it by the type of Windows Vista.

I found one for you : http://www.pcpitstop.com
You have icons at your right, scroll down and you will see Vista readiness test. It is the icon before the last one.
Their test is free and it is a secured website proposed by www.downlaod.com. If you want a free programme or any service for your computer go to that website and look for it. They are excellent.
