most people's conserns have nothing to do with your age but with the fact that anywhere who is willing to tattoo someone who is underage obviously has no regard for the law. so that would lead me to believe that they also don't care much about cleaning their equipment and using new sterile needles. i understand that you want to get a tattoo but it really isn't worth the risk of possibly getting hepatitis, staph infection or even HIV.

First off, I would be VERY concerned with issues regarding safety of an unlicensed tattoo artist. Is a "tiny tattoo on your wrist" worth getting hepatitis or HIV or tetanus or any kind of skin infection? I'm also concerned with the fact that this tattoo is located in a visible part of your body. You say that it will be easy to cover up, but ink is dark. I have a hard time covering up tiny pimples with makeup, not sure how you think that covering up a black object is going to be easy. Say you go for a professional job interview and a potential employer reaches for a handshake and sees it after you were nervous and sweated all your make-up off--how do you think this is going to affect your employment. Give yourself a few more years to think about it, when you reach 18 and you honestly feel that you can live with this tattoo for the rest of your life and your wrist is where you want it to be, then find a reputable artist and get a tattoo that you would want to have permanately on your body.

I know you don't want a lecture, but I am just going to tell you my story.
I thought I knew exactly what I wanted.
I had it all figured out for over a year.
So I decided to get a tattoo when I was 17 in someone's kitchen.
I thought it was awesome for a year,
and now I just wish that I would have waited.
Don't be in a hurry.
This is a huge decision.
I'm 19 now and I wish so bad that I wouldn't have gotten that tattoo.
And I'm sure you'll find a lot of other people that think the same thing about their tattoos.
Good luck.

Places that tattoo minors are unclean, unsafe and should not be trusted. For the sake of your health and having a good tattoo, ask your parents for permission to get the tattoo or just wait until you are 18. Is the wait really that bad, no.
I waited for my tattoos and I'm glad I did because they were done by a skilled, safe professional and I didn't have to worry about having f*ed up tats for the rest of my life.

There are reasons for those laws, and not just because you're too young. YOur mind is not your own and you can change your mind and attitude in amoments notice, not matter how 'together' you think you are.
If the tattoo is soooo important, then getting it when you're old enough will mean that much more. So waiting in this case would mean as much as the tattoo.
Wait. If it's meant to be then y ou will have the opportunity then.

Prison would be a good place to start, prison "tats" are all the rage, yes?
Food for thought- any legit tattoo parlor won't give you a tattoo because of the liability, however since they are legit, they also maintain very high standards of hygiene and quality.
Anyone who would do it illegally probably wouldn't mind giving you HIV or hepatitis from a recycled needle, too, so ask yourself if it is worth your life.....

I'm not trying to lecture because I'm against tattoos, actually I'd love one, but I'd wait because if you're still growing it could stretch and look really stupid, plus if the parlour is willing to give you it underage it's probably not the cleanest or best place either. One of my friends got one done at 15, got infections from the dodgy parlour, and had to show it to her parents anyway because she had to go to hospital for the infection...
Hmm well good luck

heh, i agree with her. If you want a tattoo so badly then ask your parents. Trust me, you dont want a tattoo that you're parents dont know about...I was stupid and got one at 17 that i didnt tell my parents about, they still dont know and i wish i hadnt of ever done it, because even now when they find out, they will be mad that i didnt tell them to begin with. It causes all sorts of problems, no matter where you get it. I couldnt wear the prom-dress of my dreams becasue they would see it. Trust me, you'd be better off if you waited.

Too bad. You're too young to get a tattoo and you should never break the law anyway. Besides, the tattoo parlor could lose their license if they were caught. You wouldn't want to be the cause of a business losing its license, do you?
