Ontario does have a variation of the "poutine" - which is french fries covered in brown gravy and cheese curds - but the dish actually originated in the province of Quebec. You will probably get good poutine in Ottawa because of their proximity to Hull, but do NOT try this dish in Mississauga. You'll get mozarella cheese and beef gravy- ick!
I have heard of a dessert called "beavertails" which is a deep fried pastry that is then covered in your choice of sugar/cinamon, apple chunks, chocolate spread, or maple spread. Not sure of its origins but believe that was from Ontario.
Other than those two, can't think of anything else except perhaps ice-wine. It is made from grapes that were left on the vine that froze during the first winter storm. Don't think that is just native to Ontario though.

I don't quite know what you mean. Ontario is such a diverse province (as is most of Canada) that you can find just about anything here you want. We can't get all the tropical fruits as fresh as you can elsewhere (it has to be shipped in) but we have lots of great fresh apples, pears, peaches, plums, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries & all kinds vegetables in the summmer months. Ontario has great pork, beef, chicken & fresh caught fish (trout). We do make a mean peameal bacon sandwich though !!
