Does anyone know how much it costs for a membership to the curves gym? The one that is supposed to be especially for women. And has anyone personally tried it? I was wondering if it really works and if it's easy.

Unless they're running a special, its a $75 membership fee, and $39 per months for a minimum of 12 months.

As for effectiveness, I saw some amazing stuff go on there, not only for myself but for friends of mine! One of my friends lost over 60 lbs (of course she also altered her dietary intake). Its not meant to be easy, but it is an at-you-own-pace environment; you get out of it what you put into it. It combines resistance training with aerobic training in a set cycle that many people find to be exceptionally effective.

You can go and do a trial workout with a trainer....I recommend this.

Good luck!

Curves is about $39/month...cheaper if you pay more (6 months or a year) up front.

If you have a lot of weight to lose (50+ pounds) and you don't currently exercise you will see fast results with Curves. The machines are designed for women who have not been working out. You go 3 times a week and work out for 30 minutes. Also, they suggest you take a 30-45 minute walk 3 -5 time a week.

If you don't have a lot to lose and you currently do some type of workout (especially using weights) Curves will not be as effective for you.

When I joined, there was a one time membership fee of $149, there are usually deals you can get on that though, then it was like $30 bucks a month. I think it is a great program for inactive or large women who need to get in shape, however, it wasn't really good for me. I am not in tip top shape anymore, but I am in well enough shape. The program is easy, but you can only spend a limited amount of time in there though. You complete the circuit like 3 times and then you are done. Just wasn't enough for me. Check it out though, you should be able to go for a free consult. The consult is easy and quick and they will tell you all about it. I quit over 7 months ago, stuff may have changed a little but I doubt it. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at darlene_lamont@hotmail.com
