If I drink more than 1 day in a row, I get really jittery for a couple of days. I am not a raging alcoholic or anything. I drink on the weekends mostly Friday's but sometimes Saturday too. Why do I get so shaky? What causes that is it my kidneys or something? Can I take some kind of supplement to lesson how damage it is to me, besides milk thistle?

This is most likely a reaction to the sugars in alcohol. Have your doctor check your sugar levels, and be honest with him about the reactions you have... otherwise he won't be able to help.

Alcohol acts as a blood thinner and because of the cold climate now that could be one of the reasons for your shaking and jittering.Your blood is thicker in the winter to keep your body temperature up in order to warm the body. You say you only drink on the weekend I don't see any kidney problems occurring from occasional drinking.Although you didn't say how much you were consuming on these days.I am not a doctor just a thought for you to consider.

Could be two things, your body is dehydrated or there is too much sugar in the alchohal. You may have a glucose intolerance. You may want to keep an eye on your blood glucose level on a norm. Or if you are just dehydrated try drinking plenty of water to replace the electrolytes lost and a bananna to put some potassium back into your body!

If you feel this weird try avoid alcohal all around you may be allergic to it as well!

IF you drink very heavily then alcohol withdrawel symptoms can start to have an effect on you within 4 hours of abstaining from the alcohol! Everyones body reacts different to alcohol, chances are it is just simply a hangover, shouldn't worry too much unless you are drinking excesssive amounts if in which case the shakes are telling you your body has become dependant on the alcohol & so you need to cut down on your weekly binge!

You may be dehydrated. Alcohol causes dehydration. If you do drink on Fridays and Saturdays, make sure you drink plenty of water along with the beer! It makes a difference and helps alleviate hangovers.

Sounds like it is lowering your blood sugar and you are not eating enough protein to compensate for it. No sure though.
