Fasting is not a quick fix type of solution. It requires a few days at least to prepare your body, and a few days to get back to normal. If you are trying to cleanse your body, just follow a few simple rules- Drink only water or clear unsweetened juices or broth (veggie broth is best). Cut out caffeine. When you eat-no processed foods like lunch meats, canned food, etc. Try eating organic fruit and salads with no dressing (balsamic vinegar is ok in small amounts). no dairy. Try not to eat bread (especially store-bought).
If you are set on fasting, here's how I did it-
About a week before my fast, I started taking a good multivitamin, and eating more natural and healthy foods (described above). Each day, I would eat more salads and fruit, and less bread, etc. The day before my fast, I ate very little and had some veggie broth based soup. The day of my fast, I drank fresh fruit juice that I made with a juicer, and veggie broth. I drank water also. I did this for about 3 days, and then I just reversed the process to end my fast.
The key to fasting in a healthy way is to listen to your body. If you start to feel weak or dizzy, then stop at that level and back up a step. Make sure that you are getting plenty of rest, and keep some gatorade or pedialyte on hand. If you aren't getting enough salt, it will through off your bodies electrolytes, and can cause heart failure.
If you have a healthfood store in your town, then talk to them, they may have somebody around that can give you more help based on your specific needs.
Also, make sure that you tell somebody what you are doing, so if a health problem does come up, they will be able to help you.

I just finished a cleanse, and I loved it. I wouldn't suggest fasting (true fasting involves drinking only water), but cleaning is amazing. You can fast for 1 day to 30 days, but if you're new, don't go longer than 3 to 7 days. I put some links in the sources section that have really good information on fasting and cleansing. For myself, my cleanse involved drinking lots of water, lots of tea with honey, fruit purees and vegetable juice. I feel great, and I am eating healthier too! You should talk to you doc, though, just to make sure that cleansing won't be harmful to you. Enjoy :)

For some people the choose to devour stable nutrition does not decrease on an analogous time as on a cleansing weight loss plan, you basically do the load loss plan and then attempt to re introduce meals progressively to maintain binging at a minimum. EDIT: the acai berry is crap and the companies that sell it in simple terms rip you off. do not even worry with it.
