My bf keeps telling me how he can't wait to marry me. He recently asked me for my ring size, so my question is how close do you think the proposal is? I overheard a friend of his saying it's probably soon, but how soon if he just asked my ring size? I'm nervous, and I'd like to be a little prepared.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. My boyfriend has been dropping hints for MONTHS about proposing, and I know it's coming soon and that he has the ring picked out, but other than that I'm clueless! I understand how crazed you must feel -- he keeps talking about it and saying things solely to make me nuts about it, and yet I still have no idea when it's going to happen. If your guy has requested your ring size, then it's likely that he's seriously considering it (if he hasn't decided for sure already). As far as when, there is unfortunately no way to know. It wouldn't be unusual for him to just now ask for your ring size and propose soon, but if he wants it to be a surprise, he'll make sure that you find out nothing. There's really nothing you can do except sit back and wait. Unfortunately. But don't worry, you're not the only one!

you can't really tell. if he's actually asking your ring size now it could be a while till he saves up to get a ring. or he could alreaady have a ring (what my FI did) and just ask you what style you like to make you think it'll be a while. so just look for strange actions from him. is he out of money lately? has to be somewhere at a certain time for once? acting a little quite/nervous/talkative?

Relax. Why would you want to know when it's going to happen? It should come as a surprise. That makes it even better. Trust me, it really does. Just sit back and wait. Don't push your boyfriend for answers either. Just WAIT

Knowing your bf as I do, it's probably 6 mths to a year off...

...b/c there's only ONE thing he does quickly.

So what's he getting ya? The 3 carat CZ diamond-like? To go with the pleather suit he got you for Valentine's Day?

And spoil the very best surprise of your life? Be patient and let him do this in his own way and time. You will be happy you waited so just calm down and stop being nervous, no need, unless you are planning to say no.

Relax. You're not supposed to be "prepared," you're supposed to be surprised. What preparation could you do, are you planning to say no and you have to psych yourself out for it? =P

He'll do it when the time is right, stop thinking about it.

please go have a glass of wine and calm down. he will ask when he is good and ready. and if you keep focusing on it..when he does ask, it won't be as much fun amd memorable for you.
