Best way to form callouses on your feet is go barefoot. You may get smaller callouses where your shoes rub. You may want to get a stretchy kind of bandage to put on your toe to keep it from getting cut if you cant form a callous in time for the beach.

No, nothing you can put in your shoe. Going barefoot outside is the only way; you have to tough it out: It's like learning to play the guitar, fingertips are very sore to begin with and may even bleed, but the more you stay at it the tougher (calloused) your fingers get. I'm a tenderfoot too, I hate not having something on my feet; I've got tough fingers and can play guitar well, though!

going barefoot is the only way...I am from the south so I went barefoot all the time during the summer...trust me you do not want calluses on your feet, they hurt. try wearing swim shoes they will protect your feet and dry quickly when you get them wet I think they are called "sand and sun"
