I always have trouble going to sleep at night and end up just laying there with my eyes closed for hours. Any suggestions?

Have a shower with a levanter smelling shower gel(also in you have a light perfume with levanter you could spray just a little bit to your pillow) and right before you go to bed drink a camomille tea...its so relaxing...sweet dreams :)

I'm a pharmacy tech and i use this method myself go to the drug store and get a bottle of Melatonin i take the 3 gram dose myself you fall asleep fast and wake up fully refreshed and Melatonin is a naturally produced hormone in the body but because of stress or other cause you might not make enough i use it because i work the grave yard shift and sleep during the day time

the link i provided tells you all about it's benefits i have had no adverse affects so far while taking it i do suggest though only use it when you can afford to get 7 or more hours of sleep cause you will be in a deep sleep state and if you have any plans you might miss them unless you set an alarm i am very pleased with the results of the supplement and it's 100% natural and won't cause a dependence for it

hummm maybe you are not sleepy when you go to bed. That helps. Your body clock and the time clock are two different things. If you need to be asleep at a certain time...you may have to work at it gradually....going to sleep a little earlier each night. But for sure, if you are not sleepy, you will just lie there.

A non-medication way would be to read a book in bed. It gets your eyes tired quickly, plus it can be sort of boring (lol) and its what I do when I need to go to sleep but I can't.

I'm usually out in about 15 mins.

Read something before bed. Allow yourself time to fall asleep. Don't get in bed and think you will fall asleep right away. Read something, watch some TV, or listen to music. Once your body starts relaxing you will be able to doze off.

I hit myself in the head repeatedly with a rubber mallet until I pass out. It only takes a couple of minuets. It seems to work good but none of my hats fit anymore because of the lumps.

I like Elaine C's answer.

Talk to someone boring and you will fall asleep real quick.
