Although not nearly the world power they once were, the British have a significant leverage over international affairs due to their skill in diplomacy. Indeed, this is how they managed to form their empire in the first place, but due to the strain of conflict, were forced to watch it crumble.

You forget to add once,they used the men of other countries to die in their wars,now they are has beens.They had the best spys once also.Now they are finished.There best was lost in the wars,they would turn in their graves,if they could see the mess that is england now.
