Northern Ireland is part of Ireland, It was Partitioned from the rest of Ireland in the Treaty of 1922 the Twenty six Counties became Saorstat Eireann, The Free State. The six Counties stayed with Uk Because the Loyalists who were in Majority at time Couldnt Agree to Join with South. In 1939 When Edward Became King in England and Associated Himself with Mrs Simpson The Irish Government Refused to recognise him as King and Promptly left the British Commonwealth Setting up The Republic of Ireland and forming a Constitution. Edward Abdicated when he married Mrs Simpson.
About the Union Jack you would have to be very careful were you waved it aroundin North of Ireland in Loyalist area alright but in the Nationalist areas all round the North and in areas of Belfast extremely Dangerous you could be beaten up or Killed and the Flag burned. The same could happen in the South if you waved a Union Jack Flag around. There is a lot of Blood and Murder associated with the Union Flag . In Dublin its acceptable to have a Flag of Saint George, A Red Cross on a White Background on Soccer and Rugby Internationals and many English People have Tee Shirts with the Emblem of Saint George on them. So be very Careful with Union Jacks in any part of Ireland.

God you like to rant and rave! Northern Ireland is "totally" seperate from Ireland you say. I'd swear it was joined on last time I looked. Hence the name Northern IRELAND. Why isn't it called north-western UK. I haven't learned anything about my world today that I didn't already know thank you very much, except that when a part of somebodies country is stolen by another some people feel the need to rant and rave about it.
