when i got my tounge pierced i was 15 and it didnt hurt me at all but i was very careful with it. the first 5 days all i did was suck on ice and that helped alot. when i went to get it done i was so nervous i almost passed out. the lady who did it had to give me a cool wash cloth but it was nothing to be worried about. just make sure you take very good care of it and take asprin before you get it done it should help. i recomend that you really research where you are going to go to get it done before you go through with it and make sure that the place is sterile so you dont get an infection
good luck!

when i got mine peirced i thought it was going to hurt but it doesn't if the peircer knows what they are doing you shouldn't even be able to feel it they'll count to 3 and that will be it. it has nothing to do wit your age, it has to do wit how well you handle that kind of stuff but if it hurts at all it will only be for a second. the swelling depends on the person mine didn't swell at all i was still able to talk and go to work the next day and no one noticed but prepare incase it does swell eat a lot of ice chips, cold drinks and the thing that sucked for me the most was i couldn't eat for about 3 - 4 days, your tounge will be sore no matter if it swells or not but the ice will help and getting use to the barbell will take a while but i don't even notice its there anymore.

I got my tongue pierced when I was 14 and it didnt hurt me at all it didnt even swell up. But they also didn't use a clamp. The clamp is the part that makes it hurt gettin it pierced and the reason it swells. The piercing parlor I went to didnt use clamps because they said its bad for your tongue and can ruin your nerves. But about 3 hours I got it pierced I ate a hamburger so it didnt hurt me at all. I have had mine for about 4 years now.

I wanted to get my tongue pierced when I was your age but then when I watched my cousin get hers done, I had second thoughts. She wasn't the only one I've seen but she also has done it 6 times, Since your mouth ears nose and eyes are connected you drool and your eyes water and with your eyes watering sometimes your nose runs and its not all that quick as you'd think it is they have to push that thing in there and yes it hurts. and you bleed a bit...
Ive had my belly button done and it hurt but my eyebrow didnt but both got really bad infected. There is also a chance that if the piercer makes a mistake he can go through a vein which can cause heavy bleeding.
It also takes a lot of care you have to rinse your mouth with a half solution of listerine and half water every time you smoke anything or drink anything and you cant kiss or perform oral sex or drink beer.
It usually swells up so bad you have to go on a liquid diet for a few days.
Tooth and gum damage are risks, but they can be minimized by proper placement, the use of properly-sized jewelry, and avoiding playing with the piercing. A bar that is very large-gauge or too long can greatly increase the risk of chipped teeth or gum erosion, and excessive impacts of the metal against the teeth can cause micro-fractures in the tooth enamel.
Plus there is a huge risk of infection, note why my cousin and a lot of her friends had to get it redone several times.

Getting your tounge pierced hurts very badly. I got mine when I was 18. The gurl there told me that it wouldnt hurt that badly but it did. Your going to drull all the time until you get used to it, and plus its going to bleed. I accually ended up taking it out a couple months later. Now im 19 and I hate pain and needles but I just got my first tattoo and to tell you the truth, getting a tattoo did not hurt as bad as getting my tounge pierced!

It hurt for me...but the real hurt began when the swelling began. The day after I got it peirced was the worst! I had a headache all day! I couldn't talk, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep very well. It took about a week for the swelling to completely go down. I kept mine in for about 3 months because I couldn't get used to talking with it. You have to retrain yourself to talk properly. However, a lot of my friends have had this done and haven't had any problems with it after the healing process. Go for it. The worst that would happen is that you get rid of it. There is no scar on my tongue and it healed up just fine.

You should wait till your legal. They dry it off, I thought that was weird and I didnt like that part. Then after it goes in it hurts a little. The swelling is worse!!! You have to eat ice chips and rinse your mouth out all the time. I have mine done since 9 years now.. and feel naked with out it. Good Luck. and ask your parents what they would do to.

It depends on the person and their personal pain threshold. I would say at 13 yours is probably pretty low. But take big hollow needle and stick it through any part of your body, yes it hurts, and don't let anyone tell you it doesn't hurt. And yes I have numerous piercings and tattoos, they all hurt, and I am 27 with children.

Tongue piercing is like belly piercing sure it will hurt for awhile but as time pass you forget its there.. As long as you keep it clean and don't talk for awhile to keep swelling down. You'll be okay.. me personally i would get a belly ring because most jobs don't allow tongue rings. Or most guys don't like them... Pretty well all guys like belly rings because it enchances the appearance of your body. But yes the swelling hurts the piercing part stings alittle while then its over in like a few seconds. but if pain occurs take a few advil and your be dandy.
