WALK WALK WALK!!! I too am a heart patient. When I started, all I could do was maybe a quarter mile, but I kept at it, and now, two years later I am walking five miles a day, my enzymes are all normal now, and I have lost 125 lbs. But don't think that diet doesn't count, because it does big time. Ask your cardiologist to refer you to a nutritionist, they can give you some wonderful ideas and recipes to help with trimming the waistline.

if losing some pounds of any description and inches is what you want then I would suggest you use a diet that is all natural and is rich in protein and vitamins. I used a protein based diet with Herbalife after a friend who had lost weight recommended it to me. All the way through you feel great and energized, you also get great coaching and support along the way. The people are very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so fairly easily. There is no pressure and they will even send you a load of free samples so you can try before you buy. The samples were the thing that initially convinced me that this was the right path to choose. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight. You also a get e free complete health consultation with the samples, I think I just paid the postage, but for what I got it was well worth it.
I lost all my weight in less than four months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them. The owners will advise you on what to purchase depending on what you want to lose, my sister did this also and lost 76 pounds in less than five months. The website is www.myhealthabc.com. You just leave your details and they call you up, I would suggest that if you aren’t sure or don’t want someone to ring you then go to their main site www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can see all the products and packages. This is what I did before I went to the first site and left my details so they could contact me. You can see with all the products and detail they have, so you know that they mean business. Its nice to have contact with real people who care about you losing weight and improving your health. I know that I will continue to keep the weight off with the help I have received. I hope this helps

Just like quitting smoking, you have to just do it. There is no magic. We all want to just go to sleep during the cure for our ailment and "wake me when it's over".
Sadly if that were the case we would soon be back where we were before the cure. We have to experience the tough part to learn.
That's something you could do regardless of the heart condition.
I give this advice knowing that you've already been told to lose weight. Not because I'm a doctor.

Yep, walking! A good brisk walk for 30-40 minutes 5 times a week exercises and tones every muscle in your body, burns calories aiding in weight loss, plus, it is a great cardio workout.

This is a major repeat question on this forum, and most people do not want to face the answer. YOU HAVE TO BURN UP MORE CALORIES THAN YOU TAKE IN.
Because of your condition, AFTER YOU CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR, I suggest walking, or bike riding. Just don't over do it. In addition, if you can't do too much physical activity, you will have to show a little will power, and reduce your food intake. Also, eat a balanced diet consisting of healthy foods.

All exercise is going to give you a cardio workout. You can try some that aren't as rough on the body. Swimming is great, bicycling and walking are excellent choices. Good Luck to you!

I put myself on a 1000 calorie diet a day. There are lots of fruit with 0 cals. to munch on during the day. Walking is greattt.
I've lost 15 lbs, in 2 weeks.

Hmm...
The whole idea of exercise is to do something strenuous, and to push your body beyond its comfort zone. So if you can't do ANYTHING strenuous...
But if you just can't jog or weightlift, you could do pushups, pullups, situps, leg lifts, lunges, power-walking...
