I will never understand why God felt it necessary to hold a human sacrifice to himself to rid man of the original sin of eating his special fruit. lol I can't believe so many people believe this crap.

The Jews stopped making sacrifices when the Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed in 70AD. But early in the Old Testament, the Israelites sacrificed wherever there was an altar. So I'm not entirely sure how where the practice began that sacrifices could only be made at the Temple.
On the Straight Dope website it says "Over time, however, sacrifice became centralized at the Temple in Jerusalem. Exactly when and how this happened is unclear. " So they don't know either.
Since the priestly code was written sometime during the Babylonian Exile, it's probably a good guess that when Cyrus released the Jews from exile, sacrifice then became centralized in Jerusalem (accompanied by a back-dating of their history which claimed that since the time of Moses, it had always been so.)

Unless your Jewish, the law was given to the Israelites. The Jews never accepted Jesus and they just follow the laws they want to follow today. Since they are no longer under a covenant relationship with God, it doesn't matter.
So if Jesus had not died for all mankind, it would not change anything for Gentiles.

What if you were never born? Would we have this question to put up with, yes, because no matter what the situation we find ourselves in there is always going to be a what if. What if you believed? Would you still think the same?
Of the questions that can be asked, "What if" questions are the lamest of all, because there is no such thing as what if, because it was and is and will forever be.

blood sacrifices were consistent with the ethos of the time, but, like many things in the bible, don't make sense in today's world. There is a constantly evolving (and devolving) moral zeitgeist that we all are bound to follow.

People in general would be a lot happier without Christianity dogging their every step, calling all their instincts sins, and looking for a handout after they tell you not to covet.

He'd probably be persecuted in another form. The Jews were pretty mad at him... they wouldn't just let him go easily
