Okay, I have a box of Snicker's Marathon Energy Bars...they were all sealed and in good shape. Anyways, I have eaten a ton already. Today, at work, I opened one up to find a web coming off the bar. Then I took the wrapper off to find a little tapeworm just living inside the chocolate on the top of the bar (just wiggling around like he owned the thing). I almost puked immediately. Anyways, there is webbings from the worm inside the wrapper and the worm is still alive. I took pictures and also saved the bar, worm, and wrapper in a plastic container. Is there anyways I can sue, or atleast get something from Snickers? Is there anyway I can prove this or take legal action cuz it definetely happened. Insight and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Serious suggestions only!

Yes you can sue, you can sue for anything, but oh my god! Throw the damn thing away and get over it. All of these damn people trying to make money from every little thing. Oh my coffe was too hot it burned me, oh eating supersized fast food meals made me fat, have people ever heard of working and earning money? If you are really that offended by it return the bar and get a replacement. Stop trying to make money off someone else! Besides even had you eaten it it would have caused you no harm, I gaurantee you have eaten them before and not known it

Oh and by the way, it is called a cereal moth, they get into almost everything, usually in the warehouse or in the supermarket. The larval stage (worm) can chew through plastic wrappers, and they do produce webbing. I would bet that it didn't get in ther during manufacturing so Snickers would not be responsible, and proving where it got in there would be imposible. I have found them in cereal, chocolate, flour, corn meal, all of which were brand new, never opened, directly from the supermarket. They are quite common. When I find them I throw it in the garbage and buy new.

You can certainly try...

You will probably not get much more than replacement or replacement value since there was no "harm" (upset tummies are not really 'harm) done. You kinda haveta break something or lose an eye because of wormy negligence, see?

It is also possible that the wrapping was compromised in some way, which is not necessarily the manufacturers fault. This means that the burden of proof that your candy was NOT mishandled by a shipper or the retailer that sold it to you is yours to bear.

It's a lot of work, and there's no million bucks at the end of it, sorry.

Best wishes!

You definately have to tell Snickers what you found. They will have to do a quality control check to be sure it isn't a mass problem. They will probably send you a coupon for a free bar or a refund. They need to know about the problem but I wouldn't expect to own the company before it's over.

Just to inform you, tapeworms, as extremely rare as they are, depend on nutrients otherwise absorbed in the intestinal tract of hosts (aka living organisms and not snickers bars) to thrive. Therefore, your story is completely bogus, and they will know that. And by the way, tapeworms don't spin webs. =D

you could try writing them a threatening letter saying you have a lawyer that you will sue and they may send you a small settlement offer but it wouldn't be worth going to court because you weren't harmed and you wont get much

(unless you actually get worms then they owe you big!)
