If you're talking about the little annoying purple lines in your legs, you could prevent them by excercising and moving more. Those veins are from standing or not moving for a long time causing the blood to clot. So just excercise more.

Everybody has them. You're probably just magnifying the problem in your head, as us women tend to do.
It's perfectly normal and if they weren't there, you'd have a serious blood supply problem :)
Take a good look at blokes - they have much more noticeable veins than us, but nobody complains about them or thinks they're out of the norm.
You gotta learn to be less criticalof yourself and lookat the bigger picture. Chuck the magnifying glass in the bin ;)
PS
I'm guessing you're a woman?? LOL I hope so, otherwise I'm gonna look utterly stupid :P ...if you are a bloke, same thing stands really. Don't inspect them too closely :)

No, you are not alone. I am only 21 and have a couple small ones behind my knees and on my thighs. Thankfully they are not very visible. My doctor said they are caused by genetics but the ones behind the knees can possibly be prevented if you avoid crossing your legs or sitting on your feet ...because sitting in those positions restricts blood flow.

varicosities are an inherited trait, and you are by no means alone. My son had the beginnings when he was 17, and now faces surgery to take care of some of them. You can't really prevent them, but you can minimize them by wearing compression stockings, your doctor can prescribe them for you. They used to come only in white, but now I understand they come in black white and flesh tone.

no your probably not alone, im guessing that you have pale skin, so the pigment in your epidermal cells might be a little less.... as to what you can do about it.... there are creams that you can buy, but theres also highly effective plastic surgery... but thats only if your desperate, and willing
