To play soccer well you need to acquire three basic things (this is a Brazilian speaking, the PENTA Soccer Champions!)

1- Good arerobic capacity, to be able to run the field when needed and outrun the opposition.
2- Good stamine (or metabolic energy), to last a game.
3- Good control of the ball.

Here is how it is done:

1) pick one aerobic exercise that you don't get bored doing for at least 30 to 40 min a day (you can start with 15 min and increase gradually if you are out of shape now). The best would be running off course, but if you get bored of the threadmill you can always shift to a bike or elliptical machine. Every other day, practice intervals (short sprints for a limited time than get back to your speed).

2) Eat only complex carbs (whole grains, vegetables etc..) instead of cookies, sweets, pastas, pizzas etc... and an appropriate amount of protein every day (at least 90 to 100 g, divided more or less equaly among your 3 main meals). The protein is crucial for the body to make enzymes, which control all of your metabolism and help in the production of energy.

3) Get a soccer ball and practice, practice, practice controling it, kicking it from all angles, lifting it to your head, chest, shoulders etc..practice your aim at passing the ball to others and also kicking it at a target. Brazilians do that for hours a day!

With all of the above, you will be a soccer champion too.
Good luck to you.

well the changes won't be very noticable but if you keep running you'll do well.
