8 yrs ago we met at work. We never dated but I thought he was basically a cool guy & we got to be friends. He told me I looked like Wonderwoman and basically we joked around quite a bit. We hung out, played pool, had fun times. Then he started playing all these games with me at work (i.e. totally ignore me, gossip about me) But as soon as he got off work he would call me non-stop, drop by to see if I was home & he wanted to hang out all the time. Still though being a complete B-tch at work. Now I really don't want to be friends anymore ... not sure what to do? Can you help?

Classic. He fell in love with you (if he already has a wife/girlfriend, he prefers you over them). "You look like Wonderwoman": this really is a giveaway. He doesn't want your colleagues to notice so pretends he does not care about you at the workplace.

Want to know for sure? Ask him casually if there is a girl he fancies. Ask about every little detail. If he describes you without admitting it is you, bingo.

Either you date him or lose a friend. Sorry to be a bringer of bad news. If you really get along this well I suggest to give him a chance - friendship is a good basis for a relationship.

From a guys point of view I would wait until he calls you again and you playfully ask him questions like why is he so mean to you at work if this does not get him talking spread rumors about him, and then he will see how it feels, and therefore if he has a crush on you he will inform you on the matter. If all else fails, talk to another guy at work you could have a crush on or befriend someone else at work, if not just give him the cold shoulder.

Bring it up with him. It's inappropriate of him to do that. If he talks to you a lot, you should tell him how you feel about it.

Don't be soft or accept apologies either. Say that you don't want to be friends anymore and that it's over and threaten him with something if he keeps being a b-tch at work.

He's screwing with you, and seeing if it'll bother you. It works. Don't return his phone calls, ignore him at work, decline every invitation to do something, etc. Consider re-locating if he knows where you live. It sounds somewhat stalkerish.

Distance yourself from this man as much as possible. He is a complete waste of space. Take this advice from a man...

He likes you, tell him you don't want to be friends and see how he reacts.
