When I was young my mother gave me a home permanent. Don't ask why. Anyway, it was horrific - she took me to a beauty salon and they told me to condition it with mayonnaise. At first, we were skeptical but it worked! It didn't take out the perm but it certainly made it soft and workable. It has natural emollients in it . I recently spent a day at the spa and I could hardly believe it when they told me they were using mayonnaise on my hair. So, after you wash, put it on your head for 10 - 15 minutes and then rewash your hair twice. You'll be beautiful!! and its cheap too

As a camp counselor we did this weekly skit which involved 'washing' my hair with various 'leftovers' from the fridge. The first week we used tartar sauce. I'm sure it sat in my hair at least 20 minutes before I got to the shower but my hair was and never has been as smooth and soft and manageable as it was that weekend! I only wish I knew after what exactly was in it. I assume mayonaise was probably part of it. You can always try it and see what happens. It won't make it any worse.

I tried this recently, and the smell was horrible. The mayo was also really difficult to wash out, and I didn't see a big enough difference to justify the trouble. Raw eggs are good though.

I have plus mixed it with eggs but after going to cosmetology school I have learned that cholesterol you buy from a beauty supply store works better and is less messy. This all helps and protect damaged hair. Good luck.

I have and it wasn't that great. I recommend regular hair conditioner. The results from using mayonaise - greasy hair that doesn't smell very good. It is also very hard to wash out.

Be prepared to have it smell a bit weird until your next wash. Good for a lazy weekend or something.
