What is wrong with you people? This is absolutely no joke and definitely not funny. I have someone very close to me that suffers with an addiction and obviously you people dont know what its like to try to keep someone from taking a pill that is slowly killing them. Putting them in a vending machine? I find it hard to believe that you are a scholar... it sounds like you have no sense at all.
How about this... all the money that would be spend on your stupid vending machines goes to help people with addictions. Now THATS a solution!

No, all those things certainly make you feel good, but look what vending machines are doing now: they sell fatty sugary snacks. What has happened? People have gotten addicted to these foods since vending machines make it so easy and cheap to get instant sugar/fat. And now we have an obesity epidemic.
Imagine what would happen if we made it easier to get the pills! We'd get a nation of prescription drug addicts.
But yes, I agree, it would make my life easier if I could get my pills from a machine like that :)

Have you even fully thought out this question?
Will the doctor's authorization be sent to these medi-vends? Will it accept credit cards? Will it allow you to swipe your medical/prescription cards? Will it warn you of all of the symptoms you may suffer from taking these medications before you purchase them? Will it be tamper-proof such that children could not reach in or be able to access these medications? Will it be tamper-proof such that criminals would not be able to break the plastic/glass and steal these over-priced meds and resell them for a much lower rate for profit?

Perhaps we could import some from Iraq. Put in your money, push the button for your selection, and BOOM! one less of you fools to have to deal with. As an emergency physician, I have to spend way too much of my day on people like you, and it detracts from my care of others whose problems are through no fault of their own, not that you care.

personally, i dont really care, but what about when people start stealing and vandalizing the machines? what about when kids take them or take too much and O.D.? it seems that those drugs are prescription drugs for a reason, and people still abuse them, perhaps if they sold them in stores over the counter it would be safer, also i would say that only 21 and up could purchase them. good concept, but you just cant trust the everyday person that much.
