Yeah religion will still be around because there will ALWAYS be people who will stubbornly refuse to believe the facts, even if you rub it in their face.

From an atheist:
Science can't make religion extinct by the sheer force of knowledge. For religion to become extinct, institutions would have to develop to satisfy the needs met by religion.
By the way, as a whole religions themselves have evolved considerably; even in the face of bitter, violent, opposition from the troglodyte dogmatists. I think this process will eventually, in fits and starts, become more "spiritual" and less dogmatic.

It practically has. Just look at the recent rise in atheism. Hopefully governments will realize that it is every child's right to be taught the truth no matter what belief it conflicts with and theist's numbers will fall further until eventually there are hardly any left. Religion is redundant we can explain the world through science now so we don't just have to accept and believe now we can question and wonder. Say no to jesus

Science will never be able to overcome human superstition. Religion is a matter of fantasy and as such will always be able to invent concepts which extend beyond the realm of research.
It is the same with literature: fiction will always extend beyond facts.

Most religious texts today have been proven false, if taken anywhere in the realm of a literal sense. People will always believe what they feel inclined to believe.

While I hope we do find life on other planets, I firmly believe that won't erase religion. Religion is here to stay forever. Praise God!

Some Christians cling to their delusions no matter what happens. But fortunately their number seems to be decreasing, so there is still some hope.

In fact it already should have done but a tiny minority of religionists insist on clinging to their anachronistic beliefs.

Faith could exist eternally. It is dogma that will, in time, be wiped off the earth. At least let's hope so.
