Hello,
I have starting walking a mile Tues-Fri and on Sun. This will be my 3rd week. I am not seeing any results. Is this normal? What can I do to up my results? Oh and when I walk I don't jog or run because of my knees but I walk very fast. I can really feel it in my legs when I am done!!
TYIA!

it can take months to see results from a new routine. 3 days a week is fine for a beginner, What you should do is increase distance every month or so. After the first 4 weeks try doing 1.5 miles, or 2 miles, however much you are comfortable increasing by. Also keep a journal of everything you do and eat. www.fitday.com has a free program that lets you enter in what you eat/do and see pie charts of nutrients and food intake. It is important to not get discouraged even if you do not see results right away. Good luck.

Only three miles a week. You need to walk about 5 miles a day to see any results. Have you tried cartaliage pills for your knees that is what my Father does.

The walking is burning more calories, but you might be compensating by eating more. Keep a food journal for one week and write down everything you eat and drink to find out where the extra calories are coming from.
