Brent ~
As you know, I'm partial to the smaller guys, they give a lot more for the buck than Heavyweights do. This fight will be a great fight for Juan Manuel and a not so good fight for Berrera. Styles make fights, and Barreras style no matter which one he shows up with, Berrera the brawler or Barrera the boxer, Marquez will have his number.
Their common opponent is Pacquiao. I know that every fight is different, but lets look at what these two did against him. Barrera couldn't figure out Manny, it took Marquez less than three rounds to figure out Manny. Barrera couldn't take Manny's power, Marquez ate the best the Manny could give and got off the canvas after being knocked down three times in the very first round and fought back with the cleaner, crisper shots. Barrera couldn't hurt Manny, Marquez hurt Manny to the body and head.
There is no substitute for youth and Marquez has that on his side and he hasn't been in quite the wars that Barrera has. This fight is going to be tactical for both fighters, but the heavier punches and the more accurate punches will be landed by Marquez.
I'm a huge Barrera fan, I was in Mexico and seen his first fight. Barreras time is almost over, he should have picked a lesser opponent, but being the warrior he is, he couldn't do that. This is truly the passing of the guard.
Marquez beats Barrera 12 round unanimus decision. Thanks for the great question Brent.

Juan Manuel Marquez is closer to his prime than Marco Antonio Barrera. I pick Juan in a clearcut 12 rd unanimous decision. He is just too slick a counterpuncher and too strong for Marco at this point. If he gets Manny again he knocks him out this time. Manny is psychologically the underdog as he knows Marquez deserved the decision the first go around.

If the Juan today is still the counter punching Juan who fought Manny, absolutely!!! He is serious trouble for Barrera. Barrera's boxing skills must be working overtime, and he boxes far better than Manny or Morales, to beat Marquez. I think he'll win a close fight.

Yes he does, but I think it will be a boring fight. Juan is a counter puncher, and Barrera is more of a boxer now and not a puncher. So I see it being very slow. If Barrera has the mind set to go and slug it out then great, but don't count on it. So I say little to no action with Barrera winning a decision.

i seek for a most suitable conflict this evening and my gut feeling is that it truly is only Marquez's time. Barrera has been a good fighter yet his occupation is winding down and Marquez is amazingly hungry. he's been type of residing contained in the shadow of Barrera and Erik Morrales and he's conscious that is his second of glory if he can win this evening, so he will be noticeably inspired and that i seek for him to win a unanimous determination over a proud warrior in Barrera who will wrestle to the top, yet i imagine it truly is only Juan Manuel's time.

Well it seems Im going against the grain in this forum, but Im picking Barrera to win this fight hands down. He has not lost a fight since he was TKO'd by Pacman. Excellent fight he put up too by the way. I thought he looked damn good in his last fight against Juarez. I just looked up this man's record and Barrera has been boxing since 1989. He cant have but so many fights left in him. Im going with him one more time.

Most definitely. Should be a fight similar to the Vasquez-Marquez fight.
