Silly no. The only silly question is the question that is not asked.
But to try and keep it short same sex siblings have the same equiptment, so there is less temptation / curiosity that will occur because of living in close quarters. Opposite sex siblings is probably fine at a young age but depending on how quick either or both children mature, curiosity over the differences in equiptment will take over at some point.
And inbreeding while possibly convient is not good for the overall gene pool.

I think that depends on age. My 3 year old son and 3 month old daughter share the same room, and I've never had anyone say that's unacceptable. My bro and sis shared a room until the were about 8 & 6. Beyond those ages I'd say an awareness of boy/girl differences and hormones would probably start to make it unacceptable.

I don't know actually.
When I was growing up I was so much closer to my brother than I was to my sister and I was always going on at my Dad about sharing rooms with my bro instead of my sister but he never allowed it.
Obviously I understand when puberty sets in it's not a good idea with body changes etc but I honestly can't see a problem with same sex siblings sharing until then.

I think it's very acceptable for opposite sex children to share a room, up to a certain age that is. Once the body starts developing they should have seperate rooms (or if your state has a law, then at that age). My sister, brother and I all shared a room for quite a while...then my sister got her own room and sometime later I got my own room, but we all started out in the same room.

its not silly in all cases, if you have a boy and a girl then I feel that they should only share a room up until their 5 years old and definately no older. same sex kids can share up til any age really but the parents must be prepared for regular rows over privacy, bedtimes etc etc

So you dont see the problem with both of them masterbating in the same room at night. Or their need for privacy as will be sexaul beings who generally dont want to be seeing each other semi naked and getting aroused.
Or their need for pravcy of feelings, sharing the same underwear draw etc.
They are not kids anymore.
Likewise you think its fine for them to be checking out for them to be checking out porn and getting turned on whilst the other has nowhere else to sleep?
Most of the above individually is not wrong ie masturbvating but not good when sibling has to share the same room.

Up to a certain age, I don't see where it's a problem. My big brother & I shared a room until we were about 10 and 8 respectively. We also took baths together. Neither of us has been scarred for life.

It's usually not an issue until they start to reach adolescence. Would you really want to be a 13 year old girl sharing a room with a 10 year old boy? (or vice versa) what about privacy? what about having peace and quiet to do homework etc?

As babies it is acceptable. As they grow older it is a matter of privacy.,and decency. Not that it would happen to you ,but it has happened many times where siblings of opposite sex enter into sexual relationships. Not a good idea for them to share a room.

Some people like to get changed in their rooms, and as the children get older it's kind of obvious why they can't.
Up until they are about 8 it's acceptable.
