If you are not already pregnant, then I think its wise to wait until after your "college" years. Being 21 is something you can only do once and even though you can still be wild and crazy AND have a baby, its so nice having only yourself to take care of. My sister had two kids in her teens and I really feel that she missed out on a lot of her adolescence. My husband and I are now in our upper 20s and trying to conceive...I'm so grateful that we waited until after we finished our education and "partying" stage.

ps...even if you don't party, its still nice to have that stage where you have to care only for yourself and you are free of your parents' reigns. You have to know how to take care of yourself, and then how to take care of you and your partner before you can properly take care of all three (or more) people.

pss....If you're already pregnant, congrats, enjoy, and read a lot of books to prepare!!!

I think at the age when you are emotionally and finacially stable and can support your children is a good age to start. I was neither of those with my first child, which I had at 20. But now with my second one I am married, stable and very happy at 24. I think anything past 37 is kinda getting up there to just start having children. In my opinion only.

When you are mature enough to be able to provide for the baby
& put her/his needs before your own. Definately should at least
be out of high school! In my opion, any past 40 is a little risky, but
I've known women to have healthy babies at that age. I had mine
at 27, 29, & twins @ 32, recently. I'm through, though!

I would say when you feel you should have a baby but not so early that you cant afford it or dont have the "right"people to help with it. Its tough caring for another human being and if you are too young, you may not know what you are getting yourself into. However, if you wait too late, your baby can have so many risky problems or even enter into menopause. But a friend of mine just got pregnant with her first and she is 42 and my moms friend had a "menopause baby", thinking she couldnt get pregnant going through menopause. When it feels right and safe, you will know.

I dont' think there is a perfect age to have a baby. It all depends on the individual. My mother had me when she was 23, I'm now 29 and pregnant with my first. You have to do what feels right for you and not pay attention with when you "should" or "shouldn't" have a baby. Only you know for sure.

i think any age between 25 and 40 are good ages, but try to do it before your mid 30s because then it gets risky.

My opinion is in your early twenties. Twenty-three to twenty-five is a good age.
