All I know is...This is a big decision to make. Ask all of the questions until you are satisfied with the answers. Write them down if you have to to keep it all straight.
Ask if the gum is going to get darker and stay darker? Is the gum dying because it's getting darker? Will the implant be really permanent? I had root canals years ago. Involving two teeth on each side of my mouth. Eventually, years later, I lost all four of those teeth. Meaning, that the root canals didn't allow me to keep those teeth for very long. From what I have heard; implants ARE permanent. But, I don't know that for a fact. An implant is a big deal as far as your teeth are concerned. But, you need to do something. Have you seen any pictures of some work the dentist has done involving implants? Maybe, he will let you call and talk to a couple of his patients that have had implants to see how satisified they are? Or maybe you need another opinion from another dentist that does this type of work.
Good luck. You have a big decision to make and I hope I haven't made it harder for you.

Hi there,
You've nothing to worry about, tooth implants are very successful, u can have a perfect math of colour, size, shape to your other teeth.
A large amount of celebrities, including screen actors have them!
I think the metal u refer to isn't the screw that holds in an implant, rather I think you have noticed people who have crowns that are made of porcelain fused to metal, sometimes with these crowns (as opposed to one made of all porcelain) a slight line of metal can be apparent at the gum-line.

Dont be worried at all, your new smile will be beautiful AND u will no longer have problems from that damaged tooth.

I am a dentist and have implanted many times, And I have 3 implants also.

Implants are beautiful. Yes, it will look fine. Metal thing? You mean the post that they implant? You won't see the post. You'll only see the tooth. I had an implant 2 years ago. It's wonderful. I have no problems with it after years of problems with the tooth it replaced. I should have done it sooner!

You have no idea what your boobs are going to do sizewise if you lose weight. Given that you're 15 and your body is developing still, and the fact that you plan on losing a bunch of weight, if you got implants now they'd look like absolute **** by the time you're 18. The placement would be wrong, sizing would be off, and they'd just look fake and bad. Don't worry about your boob size, be healthy, and let your body determine it's development. If you hate what you have when you're 18+.... really even in your 20's would be a better idea, then considering surgery would seem acceptable, now it just seems like a very poor choice.

Tooth implants are permanently held in by a titanium post and the crown is glued on top of it. According to my dentist the tooth color will match perfectly as there are more colors available than plates with teeth attached. Implants are by far the best replacements science has to date. Go For It!

What you need to ask your dentist for is a custom Zirconium abutment for your anterior implant. Nobel-Biocare offers a wide variety of these type of implants. No greying. or "tattooing" of the gums, the abutment and crown are both metal free...

You might want to try a different dentist not only for a second opinion but also the better they are at putting the tooth plant in the better it will look. (it will and should look natural). I wish you luck.
