I have very vivid dreams, so vivid that I can feel pleasure and pain and sometimes feels so real that I wake up feeling confused if it was a dream or not. For instance, I once had a dream that was pregnant and actually had contractions and when I woke up I was in pain every where and felt like vomiting. I also have these disturbing sexual dreams, I have dreamt about having sex with another a female (I'm straight) and also with multiple family members.( those really disturb me), and that is not even the worst of it. I can also have a dream when I am half a wake, It's hard to explain but I can dream and be aware of what's going on around me. This doesn't happen often but, sometimes when I am falling a sleep it feels like my bed is spinning or I'm floating above , sometimes it feel like am outside of my body. Is this stuff normal? Am I crazy? possesed by the devil? Is there a name for this? Do I need to see a psychiatrist for this? Help?

First of all, having very vivid dreams is not very uncommon and there is nothing wrong with you, it happens to many, many people. Many psycologists say that dreams may represent hidden desires or fears that you may have, whether its because you truly desire or fear these things or whether they are a product of past experiences...and just so you know, you CAN control your dreams, there are ways to wake up from a dream you are having you just have to try hard enough...about you being half asleep and still dreaming, that simply happens because you simply don't go to sleep completely, you don't reach your subconcious, and basically everything that is going on around you becomes part of your dream...and lastly, about the fact that you feel that you are outside of your body at times has a name it is called Astrocatalepsy. Astrocatalepsy means that you actually go outside of your body when you sleep, there have been testimonies that people can actually see themselves asleep as they are lying in there bed. I have experienced that myself. I don't know how much you believe in this stuff, but this is said to happen every time you go to sleep. And NO, you are not crazy, and you are not posessed by the devil...we humans are not so special as to be of such importance to the devil himself...If you still feel as though you need moral suppor to be able to understand some of these things that are happening to you, then it's your desicion to visit a mental health professional...but I am telling you that there is NOTHING wrong with you.

nope, all is totally normal...some say dreams mean more than simply being your mind working while your asleep, but even they usually say that sex dreams have different meanings than you wanting to have sex with that person. I wouldnt worry about it too much, but what may help you is to start a dream journal. When you wake up from a vivid dream, write it down with as much detail as you can. The more you write them down, the more you might start to realize what they have to do with each other. If you keep a regular journal, just start a dream journal and see if there are any connections between whats going on in your normal journal and your dream journal. A lot of people grind their teeth, or sleep walk, or there are "wet dreams", etc. so dont worry too much about your body tensing during a dream, it is fairly regular.....maybe try doing something to relax your mind before bed, like reading a book or something...hope that helps!!!

I also had those disturbing dreams where your having sex with family members..and i also wake up really confused. I think this is normal i used to keep a dream journal and read them back sometimes i would go online and reseach the translation of the dream is and it helped a bit.

Okay, all but the contractions thing seems normal...maybe a little disturbing, but normal. Try taking a half hour to relax before going to bed and maybe you'll sleep sounder.
