In the US - Prior to dialing the number but after hearing a dial tone type *67 - then you'll hear a series of beep beep beep tones, then dial the number you are calling as you normally would. This will show up as a "unavailable" call on caller ID and when they hit *69. They will not be able to track it in any way.

Before you dial the number press * 67. For instance, if you're going to dial "Bob's" number, 334-555-5555, press Star 67 first then dial 334-555-5555. Your number will show up as blocked on his caller ID.

*67 or *82 + the number you are wanting to call, will make your # appear as unknown.

the only problem would be if the person you're trying to call has their phone set up to not accept blocked #s. if so, you will not be able to call them with your # blocked.
