the only way u'd get his NI number is thru a mildly ILLEGAL way. y dnt u go 2 the place he was adopted from? they should have a record of if he wants his real parents finding him or not. i think u have no right (legally i mean, not in my eyes) to track him dwn cuz u gave him up in the 1st place. try one of these private eyes i guess.

You poor thing! I don't think you can get his NI no. - if it were that simple there would be even more fraud going on! If you were to get it, it would also be illegal to try and trace him via it - Breach of confidentiality big time!
You can only go through the proper agencies that can help you, or possibly you may get some success via friendsreunited and genesreunited.
Good luck with it! Someone I am very close to is still thinking about trying to trace their natural parents but is very frightened about doing it in case they are rejected (again).

I found my Brother and Sister through genesreunited or rather they found me. Also I agree that going through social services is the best way as they can support you and your son through the process. My sister decided she didn't want to have contact once she had found us so be prepared I have a brother now though and that is great. Tell someone what you are doing so they can support you also. I think there is an agency for parents who have had their children adopted. You register your details with them ie your name, childs date of birth, birth name, adoption agency used etc and if the child decides it wants to find you all the info is there for them. and they know you want to be found.
Remember not all adopted children want to find their birth parents. Sorry.
as for who the agency are or is I dont know. you could try googleing the question to see what that comes up with.

You can't. Its illegal. You should go through the proper channels. Try social serives, the agency that handled the adoption or the salvation army.

i dont think you are allowed to find him, it has to be up to him to do the finding doesnt it? If you have the money then you could always hire a private detective, they are really good at finding things out. Have a look in the yellow pages.
