If you're asking the question, the age difference bothers you. Then I would say yes.............

Me personally, think it's too big of an age difference. If she was 23 and he was 33, then OK. or if he was 40 and she was 30, that's cool too.
17 yrs is too much, cuz now you have two different generations trying to coexist with two different sets of morals and values.
More than likely, the 40 year old is gonna try to make and mold the 23 year old to HIS liking AND hes gonna be talking down to her as if she were his daughter or niece or something, but she DEFINITELY wont be his equal. She'll be home barefoot and pregnant while he goes out and drinks with his buddies and cheats on her with OTHER young women.

In most cases it is too old. He is at a time in his life when he is feeling old and unwanted, no offense, but that may be the only reason he is interested in you. I know this sounds harsh but in the long run it will help you because, what are you going to do when he is 60 and you are only 40? You need to ask yourselves these questions before you get into anything with him.

Not really. It would depend on the maturity level of the female. I know a lot of people with similar age differences, and they are just fine. I would rather be an older man's sweetheart, than a young man's fool. Older men will treat you kinder, and they have more patience. I say go for it.

It's legal so it depends on what the 40 yr. old guy and 23 yr. old woman think.

I'm 23/f, and I wouldn't date anyone that's 40. Sorry.

Yes. When he was graduating high school, she was barely out of the womb. That brings a whole new perspective to cradle robbing. Try - at least - to keep it within a decade. Many very successful relationships have about a 7 year age gap - I can't imagine a whole lot of success with a 17 year age gap. What are you even going to have to relate to with one another?
When the sex is over, the conversation will be WEAK!

If you were married, no. If you look young and are young at heart, then yeah- but you'll realise that she's young and at a different stage in life and you'll want someone more mature.

Yes...he is old enough to be your father, but if he doesn't look 40 then just make him your sugar daddy...i'm always cautious about older men...he wants you as a show peice and you want him to take you places...so it's even and keep it like that...but don't make him your boyfriend...WHY?
