When ever I have a head MRI, I need to be sedated.
Let your doctor know well in advance and you will lie down and be out like a light.
In case you wake up, know that there is a cage over your head. That helps them somehow.Don't try to sit up.They have to slide the cage off first.
Good luck.

Maybe ask the doctors for a mild tranquilliser before you have your MRI. The MRI itself is absolutely nothing to worry about, it doesn't hurt at all. It is just like an Xray that disects the pictures so they can be seen from different angles. If you have migraines, then you have migraines, there are medications that can help you with these. You don't say how old you are, but I wouldn't think about strokes or diabetes until you are older, especially strokes. Diabetes is treatable nowadays quite easily.
Good luck.

Whenever I'm concerned about what a medical test will reveal I remind myself how much worse it would be to have something wrong and not find out. A problem can't be treated if it isn't found. And then I ask God to be with me; to be with the doctors who will treat me; and to bring His comfort to me. There are so many treatments for the ailments you mentioned and even preventative things you can do. You'll be fine. Relax and thank God that we have medical tools like MRI's available to us.

If you are claustrophobic, you need to tell your doctor before the test day. You may need tranquilizers or sedation if it is severe. The test does not hurt, and they should put a panic button in your hand, but it lasts about a half hour.
