right now im just lifting these 10 pound dumbells and i just started how many should i do on each arm every day to see results more toned/bigger arms. when should i see results.

in about 3-4 weeks if you don't have a lot of body fat on your arms

You need to use the right weight too. To tone you want to use a weight that allows you to do about 8-10 reps. If you could do many more in a set, go a little heavier. If you're really straining, go lighter. Three or four sets should be good per workout. If you want to build mass, use a weight that you're working hard to get 6-8 reps out. And don't forget to work the muscle through a full range of motion and that you've also got triceps behind your arms to work in either case.

The instructors at the gym advise everyone do 20 (3 repetitions), on each arm.
