A full install of the Vista Ultimate edition takes up about 17 gigabytes of hard disk space.
But it quickly grows to about 20 gigabytes.
About 4 times larger than a full install of Windows XP Pro with all of the service packs installed and doesn't do anything more than XP does.

around 12GB compared to XP's 4-5GB. I'm assuming you’re talking about how much room it takes up your hard drive, then that's the answer. If you’re talking about the DVD size, it's 2.5GB on the disk.
