My small 12 week Chihuahua (who is not a barker) Started barking last night in the middle of the night while staring at nothing because everything was dark…. I took a few pictures at the darkness and in the picture (my phone had no flash) there was a bright straight light…. Scary huh??? Can Dogs see things we can’t????

yes. pets and younger kids. the reason behind it, they are innocent. they have open minds and dont make snap judgements about anything.

my nieces and nephews would sit in front of the stair case and wave to the second floor and say granpa so & so or auntie/uncle so & so. we all know for a fact they are dead. my older dog use to sit and whine in at the hall way.

not to scare you, but if you see him freak out, get a house blessing.

No, but they are better at seeing movement in low light. A dog has more rods in it's eyes than a human. Rods allow you to see black and white and are better in low light conditions. So dogs do see better than people in low light. They can also hear much better. Your dog was probably reacting to something it heard outside that you could not hear. It's a common occurrance. So you're comment about it being scary, I would say no. I'm sure it is something that you are simply not aware of because of your extremely limited human vision and hearing and not something related to the supernatural.

It is said that if you place your head between a dog/cat's ears and look at what they are looking at you will see it, Dogs are more intune with hearing scent and sight then we are, it is also said that young children can see things we cant because their minds are still open..they arent taught otherwise.. Personally I believe In Spirits...but yes it is said they can, their Mind isnt closed off, Just like for example the dogs that sense an epileptic patients seizure, animals sense tsunamis and earth quakes... its just something about their makeup.

Their sight isn't any better than ours, but they see differently. The color spectrum for them looks funky--it's more pale than the way we see it, and the colors are slightly different (think Jordy in Star Trek TNG). It's their hearing and sense of smell that are much better than ours. Maybe he heard something, rather than saw it.

I think so, and alot of people do too. Kind of like little kids can sometimes see things we can't either.
