I love Baluchis. Their food is great, and I have always found the servers to be very nice and helpful with the menu items.
Also, if you have people in your group who are not familiar with Indian food, they will be able to find menu items that are not overly spicy or too exotic.
I have been to the one on 56th Street - the only advice I will give you about that particular location is that you should make sure you have a reservation if you are going pre-theater time, because it is often very crowded then.
