There is another orange on the market called the Cara Cara orange which is not quite as red as the blood orange, but still sweet and different from the regular orange. Its color resembles that of the ruby red grapefruit, sometimes a bit darker.
Both the Cara Cara and the Blood orange are in season now (Feb & March). Get them while you can, because like those tiny clementines, soon they will be gone and you will have missed a great tasting citrus fruit.
Enjoy your Citrus!
