Ok, so I understand that the reasoning behind banning Mark Twain books is because they use the N word and people say it isn't in touch with time anymore, but if that is their main argument shouldn't the Bible be banned since it really isn't in touch with time anymore?

Only idiots who never read Huck Finn would want to ban it because of the "N" word. The word was, unfortunately, part of the language of the day. To not have it in the book would be absurd.

Furthermore, the book is beyond doubt - anti-slavery. Jim was morally the best person in the whole book.

Now, regarding the bible, it most definitely DOES support slavery. it may not use the "N" word but it contains at least 20 or so passages that not only support slavery but actually demand it.

I can't believe that they banned Mark Twain. What is this world coming to? I think people can reasonably conclude that the n word is wrong while reading the book. I'm black and I don't find anything wrong with the n word being used in the book. I find it wrong when people today use it racially or not. Anyways, no the bible shouldn't be banned. That's a ridiculous question.

Censorship has long been a tool of conservatives and religious zealots. And now the left wing has adopted it to ban anything that may offend anybody. While we are banning things I think those of us in the middle should work to ban religious ideologies in every form. Might clean up all these wars and hate killings not to mention the scumbag clergy from all the religions. We have to come up with a new word though, censorship and political correctness have been used already, how about religious cleansing or something.

Your logic and reason for your question is both baseless and nonscencial. Mark Twain's books are banned is some libraries for because of overabundance of political correctness. The Bible has been banned from schools because of same thing; PC and 'freedom of religion'. And I'm speaking of public school systems; K-12 here.

"Being out of step with time" has nothing to do with it.

Think up a better question if you chose to slam something...it might actually show you have some intelligence.

it truly is a good e book and needed examining in my view. The portrayal of Jim is truly usually the argument utilized by technique of banning proponents. the way that Jim is portrayed contained in the e book is amazingly stereotypical... by technique of practise the e book in colleges, some have argued that it truly is a reinforcement of racist stereotypes. This is going previous only using the 'N' note... you are able to link something like Fuzzy Zoeller's statements about Tiger Woods desiring chitlins and watermelon served at a golf championship dinner to the stereotypes perpetrated by technique of authors alongside with Twain... even as I understand the banning aspect of the talk, i have self belief that it truly is more suitable positive to easily aspect it out for what it truly is and comprise it as an universal ingredient of the artwork.
