I lost about 10 pounds before in a month on the Atkins diet. I didn't exercise. Actually, it's really not a diet, but a lifestyle change. There's a lot of bad media surrounding this sort of diet, but if you do it properly, it works well. I'm currently on it, to shed some pregnancy weight, and have been for a week. So far, I've lost about 6-8 pounds. My plan is to start eating healthier overall, as I'm getting older and I know my bad eating habits will come around to bite me. Exercise is important too, though. My suggestions are to cut out refined sugar. It's okay to indulge once in a while. Eat lots of vegetables, protein and fruits here and there. Just 30 minutes of exercise a few times a week can help improve your health and physique dramatically.

You can Lose 9 lbs every 11 days after you know these facts:

Low Fat Foods DON'T WORK.........
You cannot lose weight using Low Fat Diets. Low fat foods have been popular for more than 15 years, but yet our society is getting more overweight as each year passes. This fact alone should tell you that eating a purely low fat menu is not the answer to losing weight.

Low Calorie Diets DON'T WORK........
You won't lose weight using a Low Calorie Dieting Plan either. In fact, eating low calories is the worst thing that you can do to your body, since that will only slow down your body's fat burning engine and ruin all chances of losing weight (low calorie diets may allow a few pounds of weight loss for the first few days, but then after that all weight loss comes to a halt --- known as a dieting plateau). You can never get slim by starving yourself.

Low Carb Plans DON'T WORK.......
You'll probably find it extremely difficult to get slim using a Low Carb Dieting Plan. Low carb diets have recently become popular over the last couple years, but the problem with low carb menus is that they are too strict and TOO HARD TO FOLLOW for average people. Low carb menus tend to rob your body of too much energy (carbohydrates) and make it nearly impossible to remain on the program for very long. This is why so many dieters find it difficult to follow a strict low carbohydrate menu.

In fact, the food that you eat can either make you THIN or FAT!!!

Not being trite, but just eat less, exercise more. Try and cut down on the carbs (stick to wholegrain), moderate fruit, eat more salad, veg and lean protein. Drink less alcohol.

Starting last Jan I did the above and went to the gym 3 times a week and lost 2 stone over 6 months. But I was really toned so it looked like I lost alot more.

It is hard, especially at first, but you will feel so, so good about yourself if you manage to do this. Good luck !

The Kimkins diet has been the only one I was ever able to stick to although I'd say weight watchers is probably quite doable as well. Weight loss is pretty fast although I only had about 14 pounds to lose. Did it in a few weeks

There is a diet called the UAB Diet. It's a three-day diet that REALLY works. In three days you can lose 10 pounds, and if you use the diet a month, you can lose up to 40 pounds. Unless you want to excerise, you don't have to. I lost the 10 pounds and quit the diet because I HATE coffee, and that's one of the key foods you HAVE to take to lose the weight. If you want, email me, and I can send you the diet. It REALLY works, and it consists of food like: coffee, cantaloupe, bananas, tuna, peanut butter, and eggs. I can't stress enough how this diet TRULY works dude.

The best strategy is NOT to go on a diet but to exercise and change your life-style including what you eat. Most people who go on and off diets end up putting all the weight back on plus more.

High protein low carb, plenty of water throughout the day.
I lost nearly 3 stone in about 9/10 months and did little exercise, though I need to tone up now!

Weight Watchers. 15 pounds in 8 weeks lost. I started exercising a couple weeks ago and am going to the gym about 3-4 times per week, just doing cardio for an hour to hour and a half.
