ARE YOU INSANE?!
As a matter of fact you can, but you'll face a court bill soon after. The way the court works is that the owner of the dog coughs up the fee, so basically you'd be suing yourself!
If you really really want to sue your dog then give him away first
(P.S that last bit was a joke!)

Yes you can actual sue your dog. I know it sounds dumb but it is true. the sad part is if you win a judgment against your dog the owner has to pay up plus court fees. That means the court will send you a bill. So save your time and money and buy fido a bone

You could try but with all the people sueing other people they'll probably laugh you out of the courthouse... if you suceed make sure everyone knows so that the animal can sue the people who mistreat them, THAT would be something I'd love to see LOL

I paws before I answer your question. Do you have a tail of woe?If you can find a lawyer to take the lead in your case then perhaps you could sue. But what would you gain? Dog has no money! Are you barking mad?

Sure. Why not. You can sue anyone now. I'm sure someone could sue George Washington if they had a case to bring to court. You may not get much out of your dog though. If he ever gets a job they will garnish his wages!!

Believe it or not.... there are lawsuits filed on behalf of whales and dolphins. There are also lawsuits charging God.
Both were dismissed because either the prosecution or the accused did not show up, and in many cases testimony were considered "here-say" and the representative could not show the court he or she represented accused or the defendant.
Yes, you can sue your dog.
Stupid? Yes.

Your question got me to stop...lol...and to answer your question, I don't believe you can sue your dog however you "can" sue the dogs owner....oh wait, that's you!
PS. I love dogs, have had one all my life. But one dog I had nearly chewed everything I owned and of course, not the cheap stuff I owned. I wanted to kill that dog, instead I kept her, loved her and trained her better but for a brief moment, just a brief moment, I wished I could sue her...lol

Great question. Couple of problems:
1) What would you sue for? Doubt dog has much in his bank account
2) Think courts might find you liable for your dog, you are his owner, might end up suing yourself.

I want to see you prove that you served him with proper process (i.e., notice of lawsuit). "He ate it" wouldn't be a good excuse. But if you have the filing fee, you can sue for anything--you can sue the Pope for bastardy, but that doesn't mean you'll win.
