If you stop drinking Mt. Dew and just drink water, one thing is certain. You will not gain any more weight. Not only does soda have alot of calories, even worse is the high fructose corn syrup that is in them. Even though you will not consume more calories drinking diet soda, it is much worse than drinking regular soda because of the artificial sweeteners that are in them, particularly Aspartame. Go to this website and read the articles about high fructose corn syrup and aspartame. If you really want to lose weight you must burn off the fat that has accumulated over the years. To keep it off is entirely in your power, eliminate all high fructose corn syrup from your diet. Read your ingredient labels carefully. If you have a sweet tooth and gotta have a soda at least try ginger ale. I was a liter a day Pepsi drinker and changed my diet about 2 years ago. I have lost over 60 pounds but exercises helped me lose it and eliminating high fructose corn syrup has kept the weight off. I recommend the book"You on a Diet" and "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About". Both are well worth your time to read and are available on this website on the bottom of the homepage there is a link that says used books or something like that. Click on it and you will be directed to another website and in the search box type in the book titles. Good luck to you and I hope you succeed in obtaining your goals.

I think if you cut off Mt. Dew and switch to Diet-Mt. Dew you could lose about 8-10 pounds for sure. Sugary drinks account for a whole lot of extra calories that you can save and use other places. I did that before switched from drinking sugar in coffee and teas to artifical sweetners in coffee and tea and all diet-drinks. This worked great for me. I could trade those drinks in for a few less pounds to carry around. At first I'm warning you it is very hard to get accustommed to, however after a few weeks you will never want to go back to regular. The diet will taste bad at first or barely tolerable, but now I like it a lot better and I think about 0 calories for a Diet-Mt.Dew and 1020 calories a day.....the sugary Mt. Dew drinks will taste to sweet once you switch over after awhile.
Good Luck friend!

i drink one can of coke cola a day, i didn't gain any weight or lose any weight though..
if you stop drinking Mt. Dew, I don't think its going to affect you that much. Maybe lose 1 pound? If you want to lose weight, you have to work hard to do it. There is no easy way out (except for lipo suction).

3500 calories to lose 1 pound. 3500/1020 = 3.43 days to lose 1 lb. 31days/3.43 = approx. 9lbs in a month.
