My daughter just called saying her boyfriend just ran out of gas on the highway, he knew he needed gas when he left for work this morning. The killing part is that even though he only had a few dollars with him, he had a credit card that he could have used. He has the nerve to get on my daughter about how she handles her affairs. I feel so embarassed for my daughter to be with a guy who runs out of gas even though he has access to money. My daughter says he is stingy I say he is irresponsible. Which one is it?

Just becuase one has a credit card doesn't mean one HAS to use it. Besides it may be that he can only use it for particular thing. Or it could be that it has extremely high interest rate and it would cost him double what purchasing gas with cash would...Can't say as I blame him there I wouldn't want to pay $6.00 for a gallon of gas via credit card when I could pay $3.00 in cash. My advice is to do what I and all the females I know (as well as my daughter) do when we went out...make sure she has cash with her...it's called being prepared...as opposed to HER being irresponsible.

You are RIGHT he is IRRESPONSIBLE. I think the bigger question is WHY WERE they calling you. If this doesn't show your daughter how IRRESPONSIBLE this jerk is NOTHING will.
