I keep getting white bits on my tonsils - after i've managed to dislodge these bits the smell of them is really vile - i've been to the Doctors who swabbed the area and he told me there was no infection - i brush my teeth 2x daily and use mouthwash - can anyone suggest what the problem is?

It's a type of tonsillitis. 2 things-get some organic Raspberry Leaf tea by Traditional Medicinals (they usually have it in the tea section in any grocery store.) A cup of that for a couple of days will make a lot of that stuff come out. Squeeze the tea bag out really well to make the tea strong. Let a day pass then use a Q-tip to dislodge them. Then wait a couple of weeks and do it again. Meanwhile, be asking yourself how in your life you are afraid to speak up for yourself or speak your truth. Are there some people you need to speak up to?

I suffered this too... and as a child I often was ill with tonsilitis..or strep throat... very often I would sufer through a horrible bout of it, and get antibiotics to clear up the infection..... it was only when I became an adult and was able to say... hey fix me.... did things change, my doctor was able to use a needle to drain the white stuff/ or infection stuff, that had been stuck in my throat for so long.... I no longer have sore throats, or the white stuff, and I did not have to get my tonils out....talk to an ear nose and throat specialist. they may be able to help

You more than likely have pitted tonsils....which means that when you eat tiny microscopic bits of food and stuff get into your tonsils. Then a calcium deposit is formed.....which is the white stuff that you are seeing and yes it smells awful!!! I've had the same problem for many years and have gone to an ENT for it. The only option I was given was to have my tonsils removed or to gargle with warm salt water which is just nasty in my mind. Have you noticed that when you get the white stuff it is hard to swallow kinda of feels like you have a piece of BREAD stuff in your mouth? My family doctor had no clue what it was so he sent me to the ENT...you might want to get a referal to just to make sure it's the same stuff...good luck!

Tonsil stones! It's when food gets lodged in the cavaties of your tonsils. It is hideously unpleasant but Doc's are reluctant to do anything about it these days, even when it causes pain. The only sure fire way of getting rid of the problem is to have your tonsils removed, chances of this on the NHS are very slim.

I don't know but I wouldn't worry to much if the Dr has seen them and there is no infection, just keep an eye on them in case they get worse.

Do you bite your nails? I used to bite my nails and chew them up with my front teeth then spit it out, but I know I'd swallow little bits of nail. Under your finger nails there are so many germs and it's could be causing it. I used to get sore throats with these bumps and I figured out it was from chewing up my nails. I've since stopped and I haven't had the white bumps or sore throats.
