My guess would be that they are just excited to see each other because they are friends.

Now haven't you seen this episode of South Park? :)
All jokes aside this is completely normal behavior. If the dogs aren't socialized with male dogs they'll naturally not like them. Have you ever socialized these 2 with other females? They may have just bonded from your friend visiting and the 2 of them playing together and they could react poorly to any other dog just not males. As for them really being gay, umm.. that would be a no. The only thing dogs know is instinct. Males have a drive when they smell a female in heat to mate. They don't have sex for pleasure or any other reason that humans do so while they may prefer a certian sex of animal to socalize with (or color for that matter) it doesn't mean the animal is gay
As for the licking, etc. That's how dogs interact. One dog grooming another is a social act just like if 2 males try to mount each other its usually a show of dominance and not anything sexual we may read into it. We as a species seem to equate behavior from other animal to sex when there is absolutely no correlation. To all the people above who thought their dog was gay because it humped one of the same sex, go read about dominace in dogs. That is how the alpha asserts its authority and nothing more

No, dogs can't be gay. When dogs show affection to each other, this is not even remotely a sexual behavior. And the fact that they don't like other dogs has nothing to do with it -- a lot of dogs will have just one or two doggy "friends" that they like, but are aggressive with other dogs. There's nothing sexual or out of the ordinary with their behavior.

Ummm...most animals don't differentiate gender in sexual gratification.
My male dog has a buddy that whenever they see each other, they try to hump, and he has a girl buddy that he does the same with.
This is just natural dog behaivoir.
It actually has more to do with dominance and showing who the "leader of the pack" is than sex.

I don't really believe dogs can be gay Perhaps they are just over-excited They often hate male dogs unless they're in heat (ready to mate)

dogs dont have the same emotions as people
they might hump, lick, chase, and act sexually but dogs dont equate sex with love, so they cant be gay
there isnt anything out of the ordinary about what you dogs are doing

no, your dog is not gay. lol
Puppy "kisses" don't mean the same thing as hooman kisses. Your dog is just showing excitement, he is not in love with this other dog. haha

I had a puppy, and he LOVED male dogs too, even would hump them...I don't know what it was, although he liked female dogs too. Maybe my dog was bi...I don't know! I'm not sure if they can be classified as gay or not, but humans can, so why can't animals, as many characteristics as we share with them?
