Litlle paws high pitched barks, large paws means the dog will be big and his bark will be deep, depends on what you would rather hear.....the little guys bark alot more, I guess they have to compensate for size. But seriously, little guys will bark at a leaf falling a mile away, the bigger guys are great, for protection and their bark will scare the crap out of anyone coming close to the house. I have a little one, cairn terrier, he is not much of a barker but he will let you know if someone is within the perimeter of your house.

I've never heard of that myself.
That being said:
My husky/shep/lab cross has HUGE paws and he doesn't bark much at all, except when really excited. It still takes me aback when he does since it is so loud and deep and he rarely does it.
I think his lack of barking has more to do with his first home. (I know nothing about it, but we got him as an unclaimed runaway at the pound at about 5 mos. and he was totally scared of men, he would cower if anyone approached him palm down and he never barked but made a motion of barking without the noise...kinda like a gulping.)

theres no connection between the size of paws and the bark... its the training that makes a difference

Dogs with small paws need to bark alot, because if you sit on them, they're dead.

Paw size has nothing to do with barking. Training has everything to do with it.
Train your dog well, he won't bark all the time.
Ignore him and let him run amok, he'll bark like crazy. :)

No
The size of the dog is completely irrelevant to how much a dog barks

In my experience, they actually have a reason for barking...ie someone at the door etc. The smaller dogs just bark for no damn reason, so it probably feels like they are barking more!
