Get your cat a toy to play on or something. My cat does the same thing. We bought her a pillow and she just sits on it and purs with it

We had a cat that did that. He was taken from his mom before he was properly weened. Not all cats do this, and when you get one that does it's very annoying. We went through a lot of blankets and sweaters (anything wool) before he finally stopped.

When you see him doing this, gently tap his nose and tell him no. He will understand your tone of voice, even if he is too young to understand the word. If you can, give him something he CAN suck on right after you've told him no. This will teach him that there are things that he is allowed to suck.

And above all else, try to keep those things out of his reach.

Sorry buddy, your kitten is just loveable. Put up the stuff you don't want it to suck on, and consider leaving out some old t-shirts or something for him to cuddle up with. As for the purring, that is a blessing. He is very content with you.

It's just an instinct thing. Easy answer, keep him away from your laid out clothes. Problem solved.
