I would say you would better going for a Touran. In addition, the Touran will hold it's value better than the Golf Plus. If you've got 3 children, you'll need more space all round so the extra boot space will come in handy and if you go for the 7 seater Touran, you'll have even more room for their friends or for when they fall out....!!

I would not be able to fit 3 in the back of my civic saloon (hybird) which I suspect is a similar size.
Warning - I was thinking of a touran, but read lots of bad reviews about the auxhillary heater making the car fill with smoke - check www.whichcar.co.uk and look for reader reviews.

Yes 3 child car seats will fit. My sister has 3 kids, a one, two, and three year old. They can fit 3 child seats in the back of their Saturn, and cavalier, which both are definitely smaller then the VW Golf Plus. Test it out before you buy it... they should most definitely fit.

I would recommend that you take each of them on a test drive over to a babies r' us. Contact the manager at the babies r' us ahead of time so that they can have the seats near the front. I am sure that they won't mind. The dealership should be agreeable also since it will help the sale.
I don't expect that they will fit though. I have an s500 Mercedes and I have a Recaro Booster and a Britax baby seat in the back. I know that I could not fit another seat in between them.

wont fit in the golf, we had trouble with 2 seats and on child sitting normally on a similar sized car, went for a 7 seater galaxy in the end. No more kids fighting for room, peacful journeys at last

Personal experience get something with a 3rd row seat. If you can get the car seats in that car now what till ya have to get the bigger older car seats they take up WAY more room.
