Ric ~
The only thing this will be missing is Jojo the Dog Boy as referee and all of Willy Wonkas Umpa Lumpas as ring card girls. You'd have a combined height of over 15 feet and the weight of a small sports car in the ring.
Primo as freaky and awkward as he was was is still the better fighter of the two. Valuev looks like your typical novice division Golden Glover. Primo could have at least fought in the Open Division (he wouldn't have won a championship though)
Primo could crack, Vaulev really doesn't hit hard for his size. I'd pick Primo to stop Valuev in three rounds or less. Thanks for the question Ric.

Nikolai Valuev has more talent than Primo Carnera. Carnera was not a natural boxer. He had no jab nor hooks. He just goes there and throws power punches at his opponents. He has the upper hand, though, because he is much bigger than they are. As for Valuev, he has the boxing fundamentals. He doesn't just use his size advantage, he uses his head and skills, too. He doesn't go for the knockout, it just comes naturally to him.
If both men were matched up, I think Valuev would have the advantage in power, stamina, and defense. Carnera would have the advantage in speed(it doesn't really matter since both men are slow.) I think Vauev will stop Carnera in the middle rounds, probably the sixth or seventh frames.

The problem with this comparison is that Carnera while he was pretty much a joke, took the title in a much greater heavyweight era and lost his belt to one of the most devastating punchers of his day. Valuev while he has some ability took the title in a boring controversial division when the division was completely up for grabs. I would have to vote for Carnera due to level of competition.

Primo! He was not a freak, just limited. Same as Valuev. Slow, but with some skills and more power than Primo, who was super strong but couldn't punch. Primo's boxing abilities were simply of a higher order than Valuev's. And, yes, he beat Sharkey, a real good fighter and champion!!!

I gotta go with Carnera, simply because Primo didn't have the stigma or potential for steroid or growth hormone's in his era. I have only seen a couple of Valuev's fights, and he certainly lacks even top ten heavyweight skill. He has so far managed to avoid any serious talent, something that today's heavyweight division unfortunately seems to lack more than in previous years.

Carnera had some boxing ability. Valuev would be facing someone with decent power. Something new. Carnera by decision or late KO.

Jojo the Dog Boy and Umpas Lumpas? LOL. Ric you better give that man best answer. They should hold it at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory and hand out hits of acid. Primo by KO in the later rounds of a sloppy fight with a lot of clinching, and both fighters absorbing awkward sloppy shots.

Valuev is the better athlete. Primo had no athletic ability.
