hi i was born in london, with irish parents and have an irish passport but not a british one so therefore am i only an irish citizen and not a british one??

Basically, if you were born in the UK before 01 January 1983 you are a British citizen automatically by birth. If you were born after 31 December 1982 you will be a British citizen provided your parents were married and ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom, without restrictions under the immigration laws, at the time of the birth. There are no British Citizens. Only Subjects of the Crown. Stay with the Irish Citizenship. More flexibility in travel and more safety. Ireland is not a threat to other countries.

You are a citizen of both countries. Just apply for a British passport and become a dual citizen, if it is permitted.
